Housing-with-care developments run by housing associations and local authorities tend to be called ‘extra care’ or ‘independent living’ schemes, and explicitly seek to accommodate people who need daily help. About quality of care
Those run by private operators more often focus on lifestyle, with help and care services discretely available to buy if or when required. – there are some services which we can’t rate, while some might be under appeal from the provider. Suspended ratings are being reviewed by us and will be published soon. We have therefore encouraged every provider to open their ‘online windows and doors’ to help you make an informed choice. The profile score is a measure of how much information has been provided. We think it’s important you have detailed, comprehensive information so that you can decide which care providers to shortlist.
Care plans were person centred and focused on promoting people's independence. We saw that the service had appropriate systems in place to ensure people were protected from the risk of infection. We saw that staff knew people and people's individual needs well and that appropriate recruitment and selection processes were in place. We found that the service had appropriate quality assurance processes in place to gather information about the quality and safety of the service. We pride ourselves on our dedicated team of carers and support staff, many of whom have been with us for over ten years.
